Peace & Quiet

that's how the house feels.. peaceful and quiet since Saturday.. hmmm, i dont need to wonder why~ hehez! well, i do enjoy it!

something weird happened last night though.. Miyuki received a call from Nic to say that his friends will be coming to overnight at our place, in his room.. and he's not going to be around.. honestly, i dont feel entirely comfortable about it.. i didnt see them personally but they chatted quite loudly before 11pm.. but all is well.. i guess they are gone now..

i've done more job hunting today.. i've got confirmation from Diana, the recruitment consultant that i met yesterday, that RW is able to represent me! that's definitely good news.. and i'll be going in again tomorrow to take the MS test! Geez.. tests.. when was the last time i took one?

had half a bread roll with avocado for breakfast this morning.. the other half went to Simon.. haha.. he was in the kitchen and i offered him my bread.. this bread roll is really yummy.. it's called the Four Seed Bread Roll.. the 4 types of seeds are: Linseed, kibbled Soybeans, Canola and kibbled Wheat. i'm quite sure there are Poppy and Sesame seeds on it too..

extremely healthy!

the cold has been getting to me and i've been drinking loads of hot water and beverages to keep warm.. it's barely 3pm and i've had a cup of coffee, tea and milo! oops.. the newest addition to my pantry:

it's a bit too strong.. not in the taste, but the smell of it..

XW has officially touched down in Australia early this morning and she'll be in Adelaide this Sunday!

second interview

just got back from an interview with a recruitment consultant from Robert Walters.. she called me yesterday to arrange for an interview for the position of a 'Corporate Receptionist' for a certain financial services company.. in the end, it turned out that they need someone who has more experience with the role of a Receptionist.. so i guess that's not me!

the other problem was that the consultant didnt know if they could represent someone with a temporary work visa.. yup, that's me! so she's going to give me a call later to confirm.. i guess if they dont represent people with temporary work visas, they are actually missing out on a big percentage of migrants coming into this state!

anyway, i was getting ready for the interview yesterday and i burned 3 holes in my Wanko jacket while trying to iron it!!! gosh, was quite sad about it.. but cant do much, can i? in the end, i didnt even wear it out today!!! that's worse~ wahaha.. i'm over it..

my poor jacket..

Good Morning!

it's 8.05am ADL time.. the world is just waking up on this side of the world.. it's 7C and the sky looks gloomy.. i'm drinking a cup of instant coffee (sadly~) and having one of Jo's White Chocolate muffin (happily!) for breakfast..

for an unemployed, i should be in bed at this time! wahaha.. and not to mention the tedious process of cooking up a plate of Fried Rice yesterday evening left me pretty exhauted.. Fried Rice should be easy and quick, using up what's left in the fridge (provided they make sense with rice).. but i decided that i want fresh ingredients in my Fried Rice, which took up some time with all the slicing and cutting..

Ingredients:
- Olive Oil
- Rice (steamed)
- Corn (steamed, slice off corn kernels)
- Carrots (peeled, slice thinly)
- Stringless Beans (cut ends.. discard, cut into 1cm in length)
- Onion (peeled, cut into small cubes)
- Garlic (peeled, chop finely)
- Chicken Thigh (cut into cubes, marinate with soy sauce and pepper)
- Tulip Luncheon Meat (mash with fork and fry with Garlic)

with the above all done, stir fry Onions, Carrots, Stringless Beans till soft.. add in Chicken Thighs.. add in Corn after Chicken thighs are cooked.. last but not least, add in Luncheon Meat.. stir fry for a minute and finally add in the Rice.. mix evenly, Salt and Pepper to taste..

it tastes good with just salt, pepper and soy sauce, i think that's because of the fresh ingredients! efforts paid off!

offered fried rice to both girls in the house but Jo wasnt hungry.. Miyuki tried some though! after dinner, Miyuki asked if i want to watch a movie together and we went to the TV room to watch Atonement! it was quite a long movie.. and i didnt understand what was going on at the front.. the penny only drop about halfway through.. but after watching it, i want to read the book!

another Weekend gone!

well, it's another weekend gone in a jiffy! what have you been doing these 2 days? I have been enjoying myself.. by enjoying, i mean no job hunting! wahaha.. it's a luxury!

it's been quite fruitful too! i managed to catch up with some long lost acquaintances whom i got to know in Perth and havent seen in a really long time.. i met up with Karine, it was a joy! i wrote a few e-mails and a couple were replied quickly.. i'm glad to know they are doing well! i even wrote a letter which will be sent out by snail mail tomorrow! Gosh!

havent been cooking much this weekend as the Japanese Curry i cooked on Friday lasted for quite some time.. i even ate it for lunch today.. i kept some in 2 separate Tupperware containers in the freezer for rainy days! i did, however, cook something for dinner just now..

Stir-fry Pork cubes with Onions, Red Capsicum & Broccoli

i walked to The Parade on Saturday for some grocery shopping.. went to Foodland and got the bulk of what i need and then went on to Coles to compare prices for a couple of items.. saw that the Lee Kum Kee's Ready Sauce for Cantonese Stir-Fry Chicken was on sale! it was only a dollar each! so i grabbed a couple of packets!

the recommendation was to use 500g of Chicken, 150g of Broccoli and 1/2 a Carrot.. i swapped Chicken for Premium Pork Medallions instead.. had been eating too much chicken this week from the 'Fake Oden' and Japanese Curry..

i ended up using the above ingredients in the photo instead.. Red Capsicum was on sale this week.. Broccoli for a bit of chlorophyll in my diet.. Onion and Garlic are must-haves for stir-frying.. i dont think anyone will disagree with that! turned out that the sauce was pretty sweet.. but pretty yummy too~

Japanese Curry, finally~

i finally get to cook Japanese Curry! it's been sitting in the pantry for 5 long days! hmm.. what can i say, Japanese Curry is so easy and so yummy~ wahaha.. all you need to do is to wash all ingredients, chop them up and dump them into a pot of boiling water! after simmering for a while, put in the cute little Japanese Curry cubes! stir to ensure that the cubes are entirely melted.. how many of those cubes to add in is really a personal choice.. whether you like your curry thick or watery, spicy or sweet, is entirely up to you!

personally, i like to mix my curries.. dont ask me why, i just think it's tastier that way.. as can be seen from the photo, these 2 curries are the ones that i used for lunch today.. no matter how HOT it's written on the packaging, i still think Japanese Curry are sweet! but i do like the warm feeling they give in my stomach.. hehez.. and no lemons are harmed in the process of cooking a pot of delicious Japanese Curry..

the ingredients are: Onions, Carrots, Potatoes, Red Capsicum (just for the sake of more vegetables) and Chicken Thighs.. that's all.. easy~

after taking about 20 photos, i gobbled up everything on this plate in total satisfaction.. hehez..

mad coincidence!

it's a really a small small world! i went to meet Karine for lunch today.. i got to know her in 2004.. my first class (8am!!) for my first semester at CUT! i remembered sitting behind her and Najaah and Amy was seated beside me.. and we formed a group for Management 100.. and i remembered our tutor was Jeremy.. it's been so so so long!

anyway, what happened was that i discovered that Karine is working in the same company as Jo!!! CRAZY!!! in the same office but different floors.. gosh, and the muffins that Jo made, which i ate, were eaten by Karine too!!! it's a mad COINCIDENCE.. the world continue to evolve.. and we continue to tread the globe.. the people you meet are destined to meet you.. got it?

i couldnt wait for Jo to come back just now.. and i left my door open so that i would know when she comes in.. i was so excited! she too feels that it's scary that the world is so small! when i told Jo i've got something to tell her, she thought i've got a job! wahaha.. if only! magari~

i received a parcel from Zen this morning! it contains this (!!!):

i thought it was really cute and handy! just what i need when i was writing DNS! but that was some time ago and i havent had a chance to get out to explore some good places to eat out in Adelaide yet!

yup, it's a DIY Restaurant Guide! the book is divided into 3 sections: Local Restaurants, Out-of-Town Restaurants and Take-out Restaurants.

basically, i would have to note down the particulars of the restaurant like the Name, what kind of Cuisine it serves, the Address, Phone number, Opening hours, the days it's Closed, the Price Range of the food, the items that all should order and avoid, and the Overall Rating! well, if only this book has come into my hands when i was writing DNS! gosh! nevertheless, better late than never!

Thank you, G.H!

Chicken Soup for the Unemployed's Soul~

Chicken Soup for the Unemployed's Soul..

Chicken Soup.. it's perfect for Winter! it offers help to the Unemployed's Soul by taking her mind off job hunting and concentrating on cooking a pot of delicious 'Fake Oden'!

my 'Fake Oden'..

why do i call it my 'Fake Oden'? because if you looked up 'Oden' on Wikipedia, you'll see that the ingredients i used are quite different to the ones that the Japanese will use.. for instance, boiled eggs, daikon radish, konnyaku (yam cake) and chikuwa (fish cakes).. these ingredients can also be confirmed by About.com and Miyuki!

i used only onions, carrots, potatoes and chicken drumsticks! wahaha.. these are actually ingredients for Japanese Curry but because they are so easy to get, i did a copy cat! i'm pretty sure Miyuki, Manami, Yayoi, Satomi, Shige-san and all other Japanese will shake their heads in misery if they found out about my 'Fake Oden'!

the real Oden Mix!

Japanese food first came into my Mum's kitchen many years ago when she got to know a friend through playing golf.. Auntie Irene married a Japanese man and moved to Japan.. she lived there for 13 years before going back to Malaysia for good with her husband.. i remembered my first Japanese Curry cooked by Auntie Irene at her house in Batu Pahat.. it was cooked with Ostrich Meat, mind you! i dont think that's entirely Japanese.. but it tasted super duper yum!

Oden was another dish that Auntie Irene taught my Mum to cook.. but it's not easy to get Japanese ingredients in the small town of Yong Peng.. so Mum made some changes here and there and just use Oden as a soup base.. and when i came to Australia for the first time, i brought along packets of Oden for quick and easy meals.. i made more replacements to the ingredients to make it even more simple.. so far, it has not failed yet.. =)

Chinatown!

went to Chinatown with Miyuki today.. she's off today and tomorrow.. she took me to a Chinese Supermarket called Kim Wang.. it was quite big, like VHT in Northbridge, Perth.. it has loads of familiar stuff.. and i bought loads of dry goods from there! i now have S & B Japanese Curry x 2, Oden, Maggi Asam Laksa (the whole packet!), Samyang Seafood Party (it's just instant noodles!), and Tulip luncheon meat!

we then went to Ken's Chinese Restaurant for lunch.. 90% of the patrons were Asian while we were there.. i told Miyuki to trust me on this one (though i've never been there!) because if it's 90% full of Caucasians, i would never have step in! i believe the Chinese here know where to go for decent Chinese food.. wahaha!

this was what Miyuki ordered:
Spicy Chilli Chicken with Noodles - Soup

this was what i ate:
Beef with Rice Noodles - Dry

their food are really pretty oily.. but still edible.. for their 'Lunch Special' of A$6.80 per dish, i shall close an eye.. and may return to try other dishes.. hehez! but i was happy to have eaten 'Fried Kuay Tiao', so i'm not going to complain!

after lunch, we went to Coles to get more groceries.. now my pantry is full of stuff! and i'm a happy girl drinking Milo on a gloomy afternoon~

Sunday Roast!

extremely enjoyable!

it's so good.. Miyuki was dancing in happiness! haha.. Mashed Potatoes, Roast Beef, Yorkshire Puddings and boiled Mixed Vegetables.. this is happiness on a Sunday afternoon!

Yorkshire Puddings!

i was very excited about these Yorkshire Puddings ever since the first time i saw Jo making them.. today, i've got the recipe from her! that's only the first step.. wait till i try making them myself! they will be overly inflated while in the oven and will deflate the moment it leaves the heat.. it's amazing to watch! even more amazing to eat authentic Yorkshire Puddings made by an English girl.. thanks, Jo! =)

Lemon Cheesecake!

i've got the recipe for this as well.. i havent tried it though.. i'm too into the White Chocolate muffins.. hehez..

looking good!

i think Jo easily made 40 muffins this weekend.. it sounds a bit crazy to me, really! but i've been eating a few White Chocolate muffins myself.. wahaha..

2nd cup of coffee~

the second cup of coffee is not for me, if that's what you are wondering.. nobody needs more than 1 cup on a Sunday.. so who drank the second cup? my LAPTOP! again!

a couple of years ago my laptop drank it's first cup back in Perth.. now it's craving for it again! luckily this time it only managed to take a sip.. wahaha.. but the scenario of me picking up my laptop in a flash and letting the coffee drip out seemed so strangely familiar~ wahaha..

Jo and i went grocery shopping at The Parade yesterday.. i bought 1 bag.. which includes a tiny bar of Green & Black's organic Bittersweet Dark Chocolate & Kinda Bueno White.. tried the latter and it was yum~ Jo bought 3 bags of groceries.. because she's cooking Roast Beef for us today!

over the weekend, starting from Friday night, she's been making heaps of muffins, White Chocolate, mini M&Ms, Blueberry and Cheesecake!

Blueberry muffins..

i can hear her in the kitchen getting ready for Sunday Roast now! i'm going to get a shower and then go help her out in the kitchen!

Minced Turkey

i can tell it's Friday night.. because Nic is home and his music is blasting from his room.. he's in a happy mood, i think it's because C is here.. she seems like a really nice person.. and she speaks a bit of Mandarin!!! she worked in Xi An for a year at the National Park there.. how cool is that~

Nic, C and Jo were all in the kitchen when i went in to heat up my dinner.. Nic offered me some wine but i turned it down.. Jo made muffins! so happy.. i love Jo's muffins! especially the White Chocolate ones! they are so yummy.. i dont think i've ever crave for muffins till now.. haha.. and she made tiny ones that i can finish at one go.. 5 bites and it's gone!

it's a perfect little thing..

that's one bite.. a greedy one, no doubt.. hee!

i stir-fried some minced Turkey for lunch this afternoon! i've never tried minced Turkey before.. i was afraid so i bought a lemon, just in case it didnt turn out alright.. lemon zest can come to the rescue! wahaha.. i marinated the meat with salt, pepper, Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce and lemon zest.. and stir-fried the minced meat with onions.. when the meat was about done, i added some soy sauce and viola! stir-fried minced Turkey with Onions! it was quite good really, and the meat is still tender even though i overcooked it a little.. i then boiled some pasta with a bit of salt and olive oil.. drained the water and added pesto to the pasta..

Pasta Pesto with stir-fried minced Turkey and Onions!

i shall do some research about minced Turkey.. and see what i can do with it next!

Unsuccessful~

there's not going to be a 2nd interview with Starbucks! i was, "unfortunately, on this occasion, not successful with the application".. oh well, at least they called to tell me.. more extensive job hunting tomorrow!

anyway, some photos for Dad to see.. he actually asked Sis if there are new entries the other day! and since he doesnt read much English, i shall entertain him with more pictures.. hehez.. and he wont know i'm writing about him now.. wahaha.. unless Sis tells him!

the back of the house..
plenty of space for BBQ..

the back of the house again..
from another angle..

the garage..
no one uses it though..

that's my window from inside the garage..
yup, i face the garage everyday when i'm at my desk..

house-to-be 1 on the left..

house-to-be 2 on the right..

there are construction going on at the back of the house.. they are building 2 more houses on the plot of land at the back..

see? the life of an unemployed.. i can blog about the external parts of the house.. gosh.. someone better offer me a job soon!

1 month

it's been a month since i first touched down on the soil of Adelaide.. it's getting a bit frustrating not to be offered more interviews other than 1 miserable interview.. but i'm trying to take it in stride.. i need more patience.. and also more brain cells, maybe.. i gave myself 3 months to be unemployed before i came.. now 1/3 of it is gone.. it's irritating!

listening to Take 40 Australia Countdown..

Thai Red Curry

attempted Thai Red Curry for lunch today.. the ingredients of the Red Curry Paste are: Dried Red Chilli, Garlic, Lemon Grass, Salt, Shallot, Galangal, Shrimp Paste, Kaffir Lime Peel, Pepper.

it tasted alright but i really cant tell what's delicious about it.. this is my first time cooking any other curries other than my usual Japanese Curry! i'm not sure what to do to make it thick and yummy like those in Thai restaurants!

bought some bamboo cooking utensils.. i really cant stand those plastic ones in the kitchen anymore! these come in a pack of 3..

MAE PLOY Green Curry Paste and Red Curry Paste.. i bought 2 because they were on sale.. A$0.84 each.. and i overheard an Asian girl exclaimed, "oh! it's on sale!" and she quickly grabbed one off the shelf.. wahaha.. so i did a copy cat.. because i really have no idea about Thai Curries other than the fact that i think they are really yummy!

the ingredients: Red Curry Paste, Chicken Drumsticks, Coconut Milk, Potatoes, Garlic, Carrot, Onion, Green Capsicum.

the final product.. was alright~

Interview with Starbucks

went for the interview with Starbucks today.. i got there about 15mins earlier than the scheduled time and there was another interview going on.. looks like there's quite a bit of competition for this position~ it was a Behavioural Interview, meaning the interviewer will ask me questions with different scenarios and i'm supposed to answer the questions based on past experiences and situations.. it went pretty alright and they will call me if i pass this first interview.. so that's that for the moment..

it's Jo birthday today and i only found out this morning.. turned out the phone call early this morning was meant for Jo.. her Dad wanted to call her to wish her but the call was picked up by Miyuki instead.. i bought a Butterscotch & White Chocolate Muffin for Jo from Starbucks after the interview.. it looks really yummy! and it's humongous! She invited all of us at Maylands Manor for Sunday Roast coming weekend! looking forward!

i'm up really early today.. couldnt fall asleep after i heard Miyuki getting ready for work.. i felt hungry.. got up and made a bowl of instant oats for breakfast.. creamy honey flavour! now i'm sitting in bed realising that i havent posted the photos that i took of my room when i first moved in..

my bed..

my wardrobe..

Coffee?

i'm a happy girl now! drinking hot OZ Milo in my room this gloomy afternoon.. i must say OZ Milo has improved! it's about 13C here in Adelaide.. i cleaned by room quite a bit just now, cooked lunch and took a nice warm shower..

all done and ready to steam.. i must say Oregano doesnt quite go with this dish and that potatoes should be left out.. and tomatoes is a must, i will remember that from now on!

one of my housemate, Jo, is at home.. taking a break from work.. she cleaned her room as well.. which means we are making loads of noises and i think that's a good thing for a big house like this.. hehez..

Zen got back to Singapore a couple of hours before and headed straight to the office.. poor thing.. but he can sleep in tomorrow and take a good rest..

to sum up my good mood, i received a phone call from Starbucks this morning! gosh! i'm going for an interview on Monday.. they are looking for a part time Barista, which may lead to a Shift Supervisor.. hmmm, how interesting.. to think that my experience with Dome will get me the first interview here in Adelaide.. am i stress? No, i dont think so.. i'm just a bit rusty with that coffee machine now.. but i'm glad to be given a chance!

also, want to thank CT there in the Big Apple for reading my entries and sending mental support over through Facebook! thank you!

2 years!

as of today, Zen and me has been together for 2 years! it's a pity that i'm here in Australia and he's in Cambodia.. and we cant spend today with each other.. he's on a research trip for an upcoming project.. hope all goes well and he'll be back in Singapore tomorrow! i went to the city to send him a parcel, bought him a couple of T-shirts (from Harbour Town, Perth) and his favourite Arnott's Chocolate Mint Slices.. the postage charges cost more than all the items added together~ how normal~

on the bus back, i saw a rainbow! it reminds me of Wen and how she loves Carebears! she bought me the yellow Funshine Bear (i cant remember for what occasion though) and it's lemon scented! it's now with me here in Adelaide.. i just brought it back from Perth..

shortly after, i saw this lady coming out of a store by the road while the bus was waiting for the green light.. she was holding on to a bunch of green balloons, different kinds of green that also has different patterns and designs on them! look really nice! saw this website painted on the shop: http://www.balloonsgalore.com.au/

the balloons reminded me of my first birthday in Perth, when Sun, SL and Wen arranged a surprise birthday party for me.. they were trying to hide all the balloons that they blew themselves!!! it was a small party.. about 7 of us.. i remember LL wasnt around.. but we still managed to have Gary from downstairs knocking our door slightly past midnight! wahaha.. it was really sweet of them.. because we barely knew each other for 2 months.. but we have grown close to one another..

i did more grocery shopping today as i dont plan to go out tomorrow.. i steamed some corns and pan fry a slice of beef steak for lunch.. yum~ i love corn.. hehez..

Free Food? dream on~

it's my 4th week in Adelaide and i'm still unemployed.. well, i've got a phone call this morning from one of the companies that really attracted me.. but all the guy said was that they'll give me a call if i get shortlisted.. well, by late afternoon i've already received the rejection e-mail! oh well, this is life, isnt it?

anyway, i'm not complaining about my easy life at the moment.. first thing after waking up would be breakfast and then going online to look for jobs.. that would take a couple of hours including applications.. and then it's lunch break.. sometimes i would cook before going out to get groceries and sometimes i would just head out for grocery shopping first and then coming back to cook an early dinner.. and depending on my mood, sometimes i'll do more job hunting after that and other times, i'll just clean up my room or do laundry.. that's that.. until i'm employed!

i tried a recipe that i found online, it's Chicken with Tomatoes and Mushrooms.. it seemed very simple, so i didnt exactly kept to the recipe.. though the ingredients used were similar..

- 3 skinless chicken thighs (my favourite part of the chicken!) instead of skinless chicken breast..
- normal table salt and pepper.. that's what i have so i make use of them instead of coarse salt and ground pepper.. i love ground pepper though..
- olive oil.. to oil the pot..
- 250g of white cup mushrooms.. trimmed and quartered..
- 3 medium gourmet tomatoes.. that's about 450g.. i didnt use canned stewed tomatoes because i couldnt find them..
- 2 garlic cloves, minced.. i used 4! and i used purple garlic from Mexico!
- dried oregano

wash the chicken and season them with salt and pepper.. pan-fry them till they turn white.. remove from cooking pot.. next, the stir-fry the mushrooms.. cook till soft before adding in the tomatoes, garlic and oregano.. cook till tomatoes breakdown.. add in the chicken and make sure it's cook through..

i steamed some rice to go with it as well.. without any rice cooker!

this is what i managed to churn out with all the ingredients above:

what do you think?

both Jo and Miyuki were in the kitchen cooking dinner at around 7pm.. i was just heating up my chicken and rice.. Jo was making more Muffins.. Miyuki was making Thai Green Curry! things doesnt seemed to be going too well.. Jo's muffins didnt cooked through and the can-opener didnt work well with the canned coconut milk that Miyuki was going to use.. she had to use the knife and poke a couple of holes to get the coconut milk out.. but at least Miyuki had her decent dinner after that.. Jo didnt manage to keep the muffins intact so we were left with the top half of all the muffins.. which coincidentally, were my favourite part of muffins! wahaha.. lucky me, isnt it?

after dinner, i decided to ask Simon if i could take back my shelf for my kitchen stuff.. he said to go ahead and we found a whole shelf of stuff that was left behind my previous tenants! we thought we could have free food but the joy was short lived when Jo found out that about 70% of all that stuff had already expired.. so we were left with packets of instant pasta and some disposable cups, plates and cutlery.. oh well.. after throwing out all that expired stuff, there seemed to be plenty of space in the cupboard now.. i managed to move Simon's stuff back to his rightful shelf and move the 'free food' on to the first shelf that Jo didnt need.. i now have more space to get more food!

last of Perth..

4th July 2008
last Friday i met up with Sun in the city (Perth) for shopping before noon.. we went to Taka for lunch! hehez.. i had to order Miso Katsu again! i was really greedy and ordered a Teriyaki Tofu and forced Sun to eat half of it! Sun ordered a Teriyaki Fish Set and i get to eat that too! wahaha!

it still looks as good!

Teriyaki Tofu! once upon a time, it was my favourite!

Sun left for work shortly after lunch and i walked around on my own before SL came.. she took half day off work to run some errands.. we met up and went to Harbour Town for late night shopping! that's where the real good bargains are! yup, i bought quite some stuff there! hehez!

we went to Northbridge for dinner at this new place called 'Hawker's Cuisine'.. according to SL, it's the most 'in' place for dinner now.. and it really looks like the era of Billy Lee and City Garden are over as both restaurants looked quiet as compared to Hawker's Cuisine, which is just next door!

we went home after dinner, showered and waited for Sun to come pick me up.. by then, it's already 11.30pm.. and around 12midnight when we got to her place.. everyone's asleep.. Sun asked me if i would like to squeeze with her on her single bed or if i would prefer to have a double sized air mattress all to myself.. i went for the air mattress! it was an electronic one and took less than a minute to pump up! Sun said she wanted to join me on the mattress and so we attempted to sleep after chatting..

i was really tired but was awoken in the middle of the night when i heard Sun exclaiming that it was too cold! i asked her if she would like to go back onto her bed and use the electric blanket.. she refused and said she'll squeeze closer to me.. i said okie and fell asleep again.. after some time, i heard Sun exclaimed that she couldnt take it anymore and that we both should squeeze on her single bed, at least we'll be warm! wahaha.. so up we go and we survived till the next morning.. all nice and warm.. hehez..

5th July 2008
Sun's Mum is an amazing woman who makes pastries for breakfast! she should really open a cafe! by the time we got ready and head to the kitchen.. the fruits are washed, peeled, cut and served nicely on a plate.. She asked Sun to get me a beverage to drink, i opted for Milo! my first cup of Aussie Milo since i got back to Australia.. next, Auntie took the pastries out from the oven, fresh and hot! oh yum~ i know Cicerello's is on today's menu but i couldnt resist sharing a second one with Sun! homemade pastries!!!

we went straight to Cicerello's when we reached Fremantle! SL and HM were already there when we got our frozen arms and legs there.. the wind just wouldnt stop blowing.. SL and me did the ordering.. and people who know us will know that they better have enough space in their stomach when we are doing the ordering!!! wahaha.. we ended up with:

1. Seafood Chowder

2. Seafood Tray

3. Fish and Chips (Upper left)
4. Chilli Mussels (Upper right)

the prices at Cicerello's have gone up like mad, with the Chilli Mussels jumping from A$16.50 to a whopping A$22!!! the servings have increase in size by a little bit though.. the toilets have been renovated as well.. lunch was very filling and satisfying! http://www.cicerellos.com.au/

HM left after lunch and it was shopping time for us girls again.. we walked the Fremantle Market and came across this fascinating shop! they sell pieces of soap but done up in the fashion of cakes and desserts lookalike! it was really difficult to believe my eyes! http://www.cakeofsoap.com.au/

when Sun and SL were shopping at Myer, i had to go off in the direction where i can get coffee! luckily GJ's is nearby! i drank my Irish Nut Cream while waiting for them.. after Freo, we went to Victoria Park to get dinner.. i was craving for sushi and so i chose Kabuki.. my last dinner in Perth for this trip.. i know a lot about Victoria Park now! haha! sent SL home before heading back to Sun's house.. we learned our lesson and didnt bother about the air mattress at all!

6th July 2008
breakfast was again made my Sun's Mum.. little pieces of Corn Custard Cakes and oven-baked bread with butter! gosh! said my thanks to Sun's parents and off to the airport.. when the plane took off, my heart was screaming, "BYE, PERTH! BYE BYE, PERTH!" this place holds some of my best memories..
