Mum is here! - Day 4

Royal Adelaide Show!!! got up early, had breakfast and made our way to my first RAS! it's a good day because adults entering the showgrounds before 1pm are entitled to pay kid's price of A$11! i dont have to buy a ticket for myself as R, the representative to IYP, paid for my ticket! there were also 2 other guys, S & E.. the 4 of us will be 'on duty' today..

the main dining area..

the main entrance.. from the inside..

it was nice to be 'employed' for a while again! giving out vouchers in the form of cards is not difficult at all.. and it's interesting to see how people react to 'free' stuff! some are nice and polite and the rest are really quite the opposite.. it's strange because i'm not trying to force them to buy anything and i'm very sure i dont have anything on me that's contagious.. geez.. for goodness sake!

a cupcakes stall.. i think it's called Miss Cupcakes..

we gave out cards for a couple of hours and took a lunch break at about 12.15pm.. i met up with Mum and we had the sandwiches, nuggets, garlic bread and coffee that we brought from home.. hearty lunch! after lunch, we went to the Showbags Pavillion and bought a couple of showbags! that's what everyone is there for! showbags!!!

nice fruits!

at 1.15pm, we continued with giving out cards and ended around 2pm.. the 4 of us gave out 5000 cards in total!!! i met up with Mum again after work.. she was lugging a trolley! it turned out to be very useful as we bought more stuff and conveniently stashed them into the trolley..

we went walking around at leisure.. and kept seeing 'The Three Musketeers' .. i have this strange feeling that the Masked Men are the same 3 guys! they must be doing a very tiring job of having to change into different outfits at different times and appearing at different venues of the RAS playing their musical instruments, singing and dancing! but they made me laugh.. they are too funny!

there are also lots of games and rides that one can engage in.. however, for the faint-hearted, which happens to be me, it's better to stay clear of them.. i did.. hehez..

another event that made me feel like the RAS was totally worth my time was of course the following:

PIGS! you cant go to a Royal Show and not see them.. but Pig Racing? definitely my first time.. PIG DIVING?! never heard of!

poor little 'red' pig was lagging so far behind!

'blue' pig has proven that 'Pigs can fly!'

little pig was very cautious..

but the splash was pretty huge, huh? haha..

more walking around before we decided to head home.. while walking out of the showgrounds, Ben called and asked if i was interested in a position in the Finance department.. of course i am! we'll be having an interview next Thursday! and i received another call while in the city waiting for the bus.. it's one of Simon's contacts but i'm not too sure how this will turn out.. i've also got a dinner to attend tomorrow, which was organised by one of Zen's contacts.. *cross fingers* for getting a job soon!
